Worcester Festival of Lights! 12/2!

Worcester Festival of Lights! The City’s annual Festival of Lights event will begin on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 4:30 – 9 p.m. on the Worcester Common Oval. with a tree lighting at 6pm. This free, family-friendly event will host a number of lighting features, ice skating, food vendors, community organizations and performances.  In commemoration of Worcester’s Tercentennial anniversary, in partnership with the City and the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District, New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill will install seven large-scale, Worcester-themed light sculptures and hanging light orbs.

  • Headline Performance by Cara Brindisi and Kara McKee. Both are contestants on the current season of NBC’s The Voice.
  • Performances by Worcester Public Schools Choral Groups
  • Dance Troupe Performing with Fire and LED Lights Curated by Cirque De Light and Sasha the Fire Gypsy
  • Complimentary Ice Skating Made Possible by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts
  • Visit from Santa
  • Tree and Large-Scale Light Sculpture Lighting
  • Heated Beer Tent
  • Community Organizations
  • Food Trucks, Face Painting, Street Performers, Carriage Rides and More!
  • The Festival of Lights will also focus on public health and safety, with COVID-19 vaccinations available for all those ages 5 and up.

Ice Skating at the Oval begins on 12/2 and continues throughout the season:

Fridays: 5 – 9 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 1 – 6 p.m.

School Vacation & Holiday Hours
Monday – Thursday: 1 – 6 p.m.
Friday: 1 – 9 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 1 – 6 p.m.

SKATE RENTALS

During public skating hours at the Worcester Common Oval, ice skate rentals will be available for $5. You will need valid identification in order to rent skates.

PARKING

There is plenty of affordable parking available within walking distance of the Worcester Common Oval, including the underground Worcester Common Garage at 2 Eaton Place, Mercantile Center Parking Garage, Federal Plaza Parking Garage and the Pearl-Elm Parking Garage.
