This park in Sterling is located near Houghton Elementary School. It isn’t a particularly large playground but the structures are unique. There is a large climber with cargo net material. For the younger kids, there is a small house and tunnel. Numerous swings including a handicap accessible swing is also a part of this playground. The traditional playground climber and slide is small but in the shade. It is also not great for the 2 and under age group. The cargo netting continues to this structure making it difficult for very small children to access the slide. There are a couple of porta potty facilities which is very convenient with kids.
Bonus: There is a small pond good for a short walk and to visit the geese. It is also close to Sterling Airport so we saw four low flying planes overheard which was very exciting for the little ones.
Despite the size, my seven year old says it is one of her favorite playgrounds because of the large climber. Definitely worth a visit!
