Special Kids Programs and Activities for Inauguration Day

TV Programs & Activities to Celebrate Inauguration Day Jan 20, 2021

The primarily virtual inauguration this Wednesday, Jan 20 will feature a couple of special events targeted specifically to children and families.

before and during the inauguration ceremony starting at 10 a.m. EST. At the event, Dr. Jill Biden will also give a message during the special; she holds a doctorate in education. Kids will be excited to see that the program features the incoming First Family Pets!
On Tuesday, a discovery education program at 12 pm EST will teach students and children the history of inaugurations. This special is titled “I Do Solemnly Swear: The U.S. Presidential Inauguration.”

The White House also has a 40 page printable document to help talk to kids about what Inauguration Day is and means to the country. There is a 2021 ISpy game to find all the important people who are taking part in the festivities. However, most of the information is about the tradition of inauguration in general and activities to do around inauguration day. I love that it includes kid friendly questions and answers and activity ideas as well.
