Snowshoeing in Central MA with Mass Audubon in Worcester and Princeton! Don’t let a few inches of snow keep you from getting outdoors! There’s no better way to explore the woods in winter than by snowshoe.
Just about all of the wildlife sanctuaries welcome snowshoeing from December-March as long as there is at least 6 inches of snow on the ground .
These Central Mass Audubon locations offer snowshoe rentals (Kid & Adult Sizes) to be used on site. Each sanctuary has different hours, cost and availability. Click the links below to visit the site for more information.

As a way to increase access to nature for even more people, Mass Audubon is proud to offer free admission for the following individuals and groups:
- Indigenous Peoples: Free for all self-identified Indigenous people in Massachusetts
- Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture programs, offering free admission to these program participants:
*ConnectorCare Participants: Free for up to 4 people when you show your ConnectorCare health insurance card
*EBT (“Food Stamp”) Participants: Free for up to 4 people when you show your EBT card (applies to all EBT participants, not just SNAP/food stamp benefit recipients)
*WIC Participants: Free for up to 4 people when you show your WIC card
- Wonderfund Access Cardholders: Free for up to 6 people when you show your Wonderfund Access card
- Active-Duty Military: Free for up to 5 people with a valid military ID card.
- Library Partners program: Libraries enrolled in the program have special passes you can borrow that let you visit any of the wildlife sanctuaries for just $2 per person for up to four people (children under age 2 are always free).

- Princeton residents free admission to Wachusett Meadow
