What better way to give thanks and give back than by spending time in nature? The goal of Hike-a-thon is to get as many people as possible outside the weekend after Thanksgiving to see for themselves just how powerful time outdoors can be for our physical and mental health.

Anyone can join Hike-a-thon from anywhere! And all types of hikes are encouraged—from a stroll around the neighborhood to trying out a universally-accessible All Persons Trail to taking on a challenging summit hike.

Tips:
  • Hike-a-thon can take place anywhere – your neighborhood, local park, or a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary. Explore over 200 miles of trails, including universally accessible trails. Go on your own or join a guided walk. Keep in mind that a few of our sanctuaries do require advance registration to visit.
  • Head over to the Mass Audubon Facebook Event to share how you plan to spend Hike-a-thon or seek advice on where to go!
  • Activities: Whether you’re able to get out for 5 minutes or 5 hours, enjoy the time connecting with the wonders of nature with these enrichments. Bring along the Mass Audubon Nature Bingo or Scavenger Hunt to add a little fun.
Dates:

Friday November 27 – Sunday November 29

Register:

Sign up so they can see just how many people they can collectively encourage to opt outside!

There’s no charge to participate. But by donating $10 or more, you’ll help them provide access to nature for more people in more places. Everyone who registers will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win Mass Audubon swag!
