JOMP Start – A Music Program that Grows with your Child

JOMP Start
A music program that grows with your child
Classes for infants through age 8 years

How are JOMP Start classes for babies through 8 years different from other music programs for little ones?

From infants on up, these classes teach music fundamentals needed for future success in music. As musicians and music educators, we know how to build the skills of pulse, rhythm, pitch, timbre, listening and responding, ensemble, pre-reading, as well as develop the coordination needed for success and joyful music learning.

JOMP Start is taught by professional musicians who understand how to design classes that nurture musicianship skills. Classes are skills-based but flexible so students can uniquely explore and grow musically.

And joyful music learning is at the center of all they do as is play in every sense of the word.

Using a wide variety of percussion and pitched Orff instruments (tone bar), the group plays instrumental pieces that they create under the guidance of the instructor. Children learn how to musically work together, take responsibility for their own part, listen to one another, and create.
