72ND SEASON OF SUMMER FAMILY CONCERTS
Raindate:. Patriotic Pops Concert Myron Romanul, Conductor; Gary Rosen, Master of Ceremonies; Jane Shivick and Christon Carney, vocal soloists. This concert featuring the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra is a patriotic pops concert to celebrate the national Independence Day holiday. Music primarily of American composers including Copland, Gould, and Williams. The concert will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever. The fireworks have been cancelled for this rain date.

- Sunday, July 9, 2023, 7 P.M. Jazz Brasileiro in the Park: Brazilian Influences from Latin America. Jorge Soto, Conductor; Natalia Hubner, vocal soloist. In association with the Latin American Business Organization, this concert will feature members of the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra along with special guest artists and members of the Berklee College of Music faculty in an evening of Brazilian jazz. Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Luiz Bonfa, and Zequinha Abreau, among others. Rain date: Sunday, July 16. (Broadcast date on WCUW, 91.3 FM: Monday, July 24, 2023, 9 P.M.) - Sunday, July 16, 2023, 6:30 P.M. Salute to Disney. Myron Romanul, Conductor (Jorge Soto, Cover Conductor); Taylor Lawton and Elisabeth LaBarre, vocal soloists. This concert will feature the Massachusetts Symphony in a Salute to Disney including musical highlights from Encanto, Moana, Frozen. Planes, Brave, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pocahontas, and Aladdin, among others. Rain dates: Sunday, July 23 and Sunday, July 30.
