Knightly armor is nice and shiny, but how does it feel? How heavy is the armor? Is it comfortable? How and why did they decorate it? Discover the answers to these questions and more with our hands-on armor activity!

Scavenger Hunts
Explore the Museum with your friends or family to find “Artful Faces”, animals in art, arms and armor, and more!
Scavenger hunts can be requested from any Guest Services desk.

Our docent-led Highlights tours offer visitors a trip through our galleries to discover highlights of our vast collection. These highlights represent the significant art, artists, and cultures presented throughout WAM’s galleries. Requests to view a particular work of art or area will be honored wherever possible.

Arms and Armor Program: Secrets of Swordplay

Have you ever wondered how real swordsmen (and women!) actually fought? Come by and get an in-person look at the art of swordplay in action, and try hefting a reproduction broadsword or rapier to get a feel for what these elegant weapons were really like.

Join a docent-led guided tour of Frontiers of Impressionism. Explore the evolution and expansion of Impressionism, an artistic movement that changed the trajectory of art history.

Tours are limited to 18 visitors. Please register at the front desk as you enter the Museum.
