Homeschool Programs for Teens: Birds in Winter
February 25 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm$20 – $28
Although many birds migrate south for the winter, some are actively feeding and competing for their nesting territories this time of year in our forest. Come learn how to identify our winter birds by call and sight, observe bird behavior, and record data on bird diversity and abundance between the different habitats at Broad Meadow Brook. Attendants will be encouraged to download the eBird App for data collection and Merlin Bird ID for bird identification (on a phone or tablet). Bring your own binoculars if possible.
Classes will be held outdoors except for extreme inclement weather. PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, advance registration is required. No walk ins allowed. Online registration closes 24 hours before program begins. Social distancing and wearing a mask or other face covering are required. Group size is limited.
At this time, due to COVID-19 regulations on group size, we are unable to accommodate accompanying family members unless they register and pay for the program. Parents and non-participating siblings are always welcome to remain at the sanctuary.
