10th Annual “Walk for Birthdays” to Benefit Kids in Homeless Shelters

10TH ANNUAL “WALK FOR BIRTHDAYS” TO RAISE FUNDS TO BRING BIRTHDAY PARTIES/GIFTS TO HOMELESS CHILDREN

DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, THIS YEAR’S WALK WILL BE VIRTUAL

WHO: Birthday Wishes, a Massachusetts and New York based non-profit organization, that brings the magic of birthday parties to thousands of homeless children and their families each year, is holding its 10th annual “Walk for Birthdays”(formerly CakeWalk) Fundraiser, which is one of the organization’s signature fundraising events and this year, due to the pandemic, will be held virtually.

WHAT: “Walk for Birthdays” is a virtual walk and fitness challenge to raise funds and awareness of the Birthday Wishes mission and is a great way to bring joy to a homeless child. With the effects of the pandemic increasing homelessness throughout the country, never has this event been more important. Every mile walked (or jogged, biked, etc.) and every dollar raised by participants at this virtual event will benefit a child impacted by homelessness. Now more than ever these kids and their families need to know that they are special and matter.

Prior to the pandemic, when the walk was a live event, and it would bring in more than $100,000 a year making it one, if not the, most important fundraising events on the Birthday Wishes calendar. No matter what is raised this year, it will be used to deliver birthday celebrations – and the gift of hope – to children who would otherwise miss out on this experience.
